Updates!

Parkhill Junior match

Thank-you to all of those who came to support us in our most recent match. Despite some initial concerns as to whether the match would be on or not, it was good to see the boys improving their play as the game progressed and even though we did not win, I’m sure that everyone learnt a lot from the game. Thank-you again to James for refereeing the match for us.

Gilbert Colvin match

This match will be our final league match of the season. More details will be available once I have confirmed them.

League position

We are currently 3rd in the league with St. Anthony’s and Fairlop above us. I am assuming that St. Anthony’s will end top of the league as they are unbeaten, but hope that you will agree that we should be very proud of being so close to the top of the table. The team have achieved so much since they started, coming together from such a wide range of backgrounds; I am very impressed with each and every one of their achievements.

Training

The last training session for the team will be on Friday 8th May, as we begin training for next year’s team. I am hoping to organise a Year 5 vs. Year 6 match towards the end of the Summer term which I’m sure everyone will enjoy. Please can you return school football kits ready for use next year following the Gilbert Colvin match.

Please remember that there will be no training this Friday as it is the last day of term.

Hope you have a great Easter break.

Updates!

Just to say well done to all the boys for an excellent try against St. Anthony's on Friday. Even though we didn't win, everyone tried really hard and in the end they were a better team. We must not let this stop us in being positive about our next two matches. We have done so well in the League so far and I know that we can keep it up. Man of the match goes to Dylan.F for some excellent goalkeeping. What progress you have made since you started!

Our next match will be this Friday 27th March against Parkhill. The match will be held at Glade and kick-off will be as close to 3.30pm as possible.

Please find below a link to our section of the League. It is updated regularly once results are in. It tells you our position in the league etc.

Look forward to seeing you all on Friday,

Preparing for the match on 20th of March

By Dylan Tak
Let me just start off with saying all year fives be ready for the football team next year and please come to the try-outs because we want everyone we can get to try out.

We had a good match against fairlop and i hope we can have even better results against St.Anthony's. We are currently in the group stage of the league and we need to get into the quarter finals so I have added two videos, one on taking on players, and one for shielding the ball from defenders to help us win more matches and we are currently undefeated in the league so i hope we can keep this up.

Fairlop vs Glade

today glade played a well earned 4-4 drawn match away at fairlop primary school.
The proclaimed "Fairlop tigers" had a very poor first half but a good 2nd half.
Dylan. F deserves a medal with the way he played today saving some of the the hardest shots that glade has ever tried to defend. The formation of 4-3-3 was quite good with Stelios, Dylan.T(goes on for Ryan) , Rakeem and mohsin in defence with a great block from Dylan.T and another 2 From Both Rakeem and Stelios plus Stelios and Dylan.T with a great squash block.
even though it was 4 all it seems like we won with 1 of there goals been scored after they went of the pitch with the ball(but there was no throw-in)then a goal happened. The formation was:
Attack: Vishau, Billy and Folusa
Midfield: Joe, Louie and Charlie
Defence: Moshin, Dylan.T(on for Ryan),Stelios and Rakeem
Goalie:Dylan.F

Next training session and match!

Tonight we continued our work on heading and thought carefully about which part of our head we need to use to perform an effective 'header.' We also practised our corners and throw-ins and passing in formation, in preparation for Wednesday's match against Fairlop Primary.

Look forward to seeing you all for a 4 o clock kick-off at Fairlop Primary school on Wednesday.

If you are able to take any children with you to Fairlop we would be most grateful. I am sure that the team will all do their best and that we will have another league win.

Our next training session will be Friday 13th March.

Thank-you for your continued help and support :-)
